Art Club for Ukraine Teenagers - Арт-клуб для підлітків України
Regular Saturday art club for children displaced by the war in Ukraine that are now living locally and to help them enjoy and express themselves through art, and enjoy the company of their fellow Ukrainians.
Our Saturday Art Club is an art group for Ukrainian Mums/Carers and their children. The club is supervised by a group of local artists and teachers.
There will be different arts and crafts activities each week and all materials are provided. There is no charge for the club but we encourage people to mark themselves as going on the event page so we can get an idea of numbers.
The “Saturday Art Club” project was created by Creative Innovation Centre CIC in associations with other local community art organisations. With the support of the Somerset West & Taunton Council we organise free art classes for the youngest refugees.
The teachers employed in the project do their best to provide the children with a sense of emotional stability. The art classes have a therapeutic value and help them adapt to the new conditions. They also get the chance to decide which art activities they want in the future, helping them to take ownership of their own Saturday Art Club.
